Pilates on George runs evidence-based online Pilates courses for two kinds of people: qualified instructors who want clinically useful continuing education, and curious clients who want to understand their own body more deeply. Every course is built from current research, layered with years of clinical and studio experience, and stripped of the wellness-industry noise.
What you’ll find here
Three distinct learning paths sit on this page. Each one is delivered online, recorded, and built around the principle that knowing more about your body is the single most useful skill you can carry into the studio or into the rest of your life.
We create practical, research-informed courses for Pilates instructors, movement professionals and curious teachers who want to understand the body more deeply and teach with more confidence.
- Hips & Pelvis course — an evidence-based deep dive into one of the most commonly mis-taught regions in Pilates. For instructors and curious clients.
- Lumbar Spine course — what the current research actually says about lower back pain, disc health, loading and movement. Self-paced, online, with recordings.
- The POG Club — a weekly virtual mat class plus a fortnightly lecture series for anyone curious about how their body works. $35/week, 13-week founding season.
Online Pilates courses for instructors and movement professionals
Our anatomy and pathology courses are written for qualified Pilates instructors, physiotherapists, exercise physiologists and movement teachers who want continuing education that holds up in front of a real client. We are not interested in information for information’s sake. Each module bridges the gap between research, anatomy and studio application — so you leave with answers you can use in your next class. Both the Hips and Lumbar courses are eligible for CEC points and include lifetime access to recordings.
Online Pilates classes and education for curious clients
If you have ever wondered why your hips ache after sitting, why your low back flares up after a long walk, or what is actually happening in midlife to your bones and joints — the POG Club is for you. Every week you join a live mat class on Zoom, and every other Friday we deliver a research-backed lecture on a topic worth understanding. No supplement marketing, no fitness-industry jargon, no shouting. Just honest, well-read answers to the questions you have probably already googled.
Why evidence-based Pilates education matters
The Pilates world is full of confident voices saying contradictory things. “Engage your core.” “Don’t engage your core.” “Never load a flexed spine.” “Flexion is essential.” Each one of those statements is half-true at best. Our courses do the slow work of reading the research, comparing it to clinical reality, and arriving at a position you can defend in a busy studio or to a curious client. That is what “evidence-based” means to us.
FAQ
Q1. Are Pilates on George online courses suitable for beginners?
Yes. The POG Club mat classes and the body-literacy lectures are designed for any movement level. The Hips, Pelvis and Lumbar courses assume you already teach or train regularly, but a curious client with no instructor background will still understand most of the material.
Q2. Do your online Pilates courses count for CEC points?
The Hips & Pelvis and Lumbar Spine courses are eligible for continuing education credit with the major Australian Pilates bodies, including the PAA. Each course issues a certificate of completion you can submit to your association.
Q3. How much do the online Pilates courses cost?
The POG Club membership is AUD $35 per week for the 13-week founding season. The Hips & Pelvis and Lumbar Spine courses are one-time purchases. Current pricing is shown on each course’s enrolment page.
Q4. Are the classes live or pre-recorded?
Both. POG Club mat classes are live on Zoom every Tuesday, and lectures are live every other Friday. Every session is recorded so you can catch up in your own time. The anatomy courses are self-paced with lifetime access to all recordings.
Q5. Who teaches the online courses?
All courses are co-led by Olya Bernick and Niya Volpe, the owners of Pilates on George. Both are senior Pilates instructors with extensive teaching, clinical and continuing-education experience inside and outside Australia.
Q6. What makes Pilates on George’s online education different?
Every course is built from current research, distilled by working Pilates teachers who see the same questions come up in real studios every day. We do not sell supplements, we do not chase trends, and we do not teach what we cannot defend with evidence.
Q7. Do I need any equipment to take part?
For the POG Club mat classes, a yoga mat is enough. For the Hips and Lumbar courses, no equipment is required — these are anatomy and education courses, not workout programs.
Q8. Can I get a refund if a course is not right for me?
Yes. We offer a 14-day refund window on every course and a 30-day window on the POG Club. We would rather refund the small number of people for whom it is not the right fit than have anyone stuck in a membership they do not use.
