Let’s Go Running!
Would you like to take up running? Are you already running but want to refine your technique? Do you simply want to feel more active?
Jo and the Pilates On George team have always been passionate about getting strong and moving with efficiency in the studio to help you move more outside the studio. - Two 2-3 hour workshops (held on a Saturday) where we discuss important aspects of running, exercises and stretches you can do before and after to help your performance and recovery (first one in May, second one in July)
- Reminder videos of exercises and stretches covered in the live sessions
- A monthly newsletter with tips from our network of allied health friends

Thomasine Maye- T-Health and Fitness
T has been a Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor since 2009, working outdoors across the CBD, Inner West and Eastern Suburbs. Also a Polestar qualified mat Pilates Instructor, her training philosophy is about helping people enjoy exercise by moving well and building a positive relationship with it.
She loves seeing clients learn and grow, achieve something they didn’t believe they could ever do. And simply give it their best shot.
Having had lulls in her own fitness and injuries over the years, these have helped her better appreciate the importance of moving well for her own happiness.
Although not a pro-runner, she has run a number of short to medium distance events over the years. And, the most important lesson she is keen to pass on, is how to run well AND have fun doing it!
T’s ethos is: Move Better. Feel Better. Live Better.
John Panagopoulos- Active Physiotherapy
Having graduated from the University of Sydney, John has been a practising physiotherapist for over 20 years, working in Australia and abroad. He also has a Bachelor of Medical Science, majoring in Anatomy. These complementary degrees serve to strengthen his knowledge of normal and pathological anatomy and physiology.
John has worked with many and varied sporting organisations during his career. He has been the head physiotherapist for the Neganehira Nagas cricket team in the Sri Lankan Premier League. John has also been the physiotherapist for the Bengal Tigers in the Indian Cricket League (ICL), a professional 20-20 cricket league based in India.
For many years, John has been the physiotherapist for the Sydney Cricket Club in the Sydney Grade Cricket Competition. John has also worked with 1st Grade Rugby and Australian Rules clubs. John currently has a crew of ultra-marathon runners as patients too.
John loves a long run and has completed eight half marathons, including a high altitude half marathon around the Snowy Mountains
Joanne Bezzina- Pilates On George
Pilates On George owner, Joanne Bezzina has recently taken up running as a way of fitting in extra exercise and clearing the mind. While she loved competing in sprints as a child and teenager, you would be more likely to find Jo in a dance studio or walking the dog than going for a run.
Jo has always found the bio-mechanics of running fascinating and has taught many runners in the past. She is enjoying being the student outside the Pilates studio and discovering what pounding the pavement can do for her whole body health.
